When you click on a video clip on our site, you are shown a Facebook video whether or not you have a Facebook account. Moreover, the fact that it is a Facebook video means that you have access to several features from within the clip. Did you know, for instance, that you can view the video in full screen mode, or that you can adjust the sound without adjusting the settings for your computer’s speakers?
To access these functions, drag your mouse cursor over the lower part of the clip and a toolbar will be displayed. The toolbar looks like this:
Let’s take a quick look at each of the functions that this toolbar provides. On the left side of the toolbar are two vertical bars. Clicking on these will pause the video and change the bars to an icon roughly resembling the character >. Pressing that icon, in turn, will resume the video.
Just to the right of the vertical bars is a horizontal bar with a large dot. Dragging on the dot with your mouse cursor will re-position the video. It advances the video if you drag the dot to the right and rewinds it if you move to the left.
To the right of the horizontal bar and dot is a number which indicates the remaining run time of the video. In the example above, 36 minutes and 24 seconds remain.
The gear to the right of the numbers allows you to control the video settings for the replay of the clip. Clicking on the gear displays a menu from which you can adjust the quality of the replay, manage other video settings, or report the video as containing unacceptable content. If the video is grainy, select Quality and then choose the highest value available.
To the right of the gear is a square with four arrows. Clicking on this will display the video in full screen mode. If you’re having difficulty seeing the video or reading text on the clip, click on this icon.
To the right of the square and arrows is a circle with an f in the center. Clicking on this button will take you to the Facebook page that hosts the video.
Finally, on the far right you will see a speaker icon. If you wish to adjust or mute the volume, you can click on this and drag the volume up or down.
I hope that this little tutorial is helpful and that you will continue enjoying videos of our services!
